Finally got to work with RED Camera hands on. Messed around with the menu system.

Been cleaning filters and checking tripods.

Also currently reading the RED manual lately, learning that camera as much as I can. I wonder if I could get some footage today to mess around with.

Was a Key Grip Fill-in Last night

Last night responded to a Craigslist post about a grip position on a feature. Found out when I got there I was a replacing the Key Grip. At first felt a little nervous but after an hour of working I became conformable. A lot of the people seemed to be based outta California shooting in Cragsmoor NY. Relearned some good grip techniques and meet some pretty awesome people. Found some of the grips heard of Full Sail and they heard better thing from Full Sail students than other film school grads. Overall it was a great experience and I am looking forward to more shoots. Tomorrow gonna going to the internship in NYC.

Came up with an concept and treatment for a Short Documentary

It’s for the Mid-Hudson Civic Center’s McCain Ice Arena. Just downloaded release forms just in case I can pull it through. Also I found my old concept and treatment for my go skateboarding day doc. It’s my reason to check out LA. Gonna see if I can get that done in the future.

Well applied for a camera opertor position in Comcast.

It pays and it a job. Working with cameras all day at renatal house is great but if I get don’t get a job from here. I got a back up and as Jason Blanchard says Always be looking for your next job.

Last two days

Were ok. I learned different ways of checking tripods and follow focuses for them to go back out for people to rent as wells as matte boxes. Gonna be learning RED camera transferring so I can hopefully get jobs working on RED shoots making some extra cash. I hope this Internship get farther. I’d really like to start getting paid.

Today was interesting

Learned about NYC and Film industry today. Found out the best time to be in the city is the summer. Things are booming and jobs are around. Today I met with a camera rental house and felt really well there. I was amazed to see a guy working on an ARRI Alexa! Just testing it out and everything, then went to work on a 5D mark 2. In these few weeks I’m gonna bust my ass off and show them I enjoy this work.
